Veteran journalists revisit the role of truth in a Democracy

Veteran journalist Qamar Waheed Naqvi on Sunday, November 9, reflected on the growing pressures that compel journalists to compromise under political and corporate influence, according to a Times of India report. “Journalism may have lost some of its old prestige, but there is no other profession as vital to democracy,” he said at an event held to celebrate the career of senior journalist Naveen Joshi. Naqvi also emphasised that language gives journalists the power to think, express and influence social development.
