Kulgam Working Journalists Association elects new executive body

The Kulgam Working Journalists Association (KWJA) has elected its new executive body during an election held at Town Hall Kulgam, with journalists from across the district participating in the voting process.
According to the election committee, senior journalist Khurshid Padroo was elected as the 8th President of the association, while Umaisar Gull was unanimously chosen as the General Secretary.
Formed in 2007, when Kulgam was declared a separate district, KWJA has been committed to promoting professional, ethical, and collaborative journalism in the region.
The association said that an oath-taking ceremony will be held separately in Kulgam, where the remaining office-bearers will be formally inducted, Kashmir News Service reported.
