TWJA hails revision of journalists’ pension scheme

The Tripura Working Journalists Association (TWJA) has thanked the state government for revising the Tripura Journalists Pension Scheme, 2021, and the Tripura Media Representatives Accreditation Guidelines, 2020.
The changes include a revised minimum age for pension access, removal of the income ceiling, and updated accreditation conditions. Journalists with 25 years of professional experience and 10 years of accreditation are now eligible for pensions even before turning 60.
The government has withdrawn the previous Rs. 3 lakh annual family income cap. TWJA had consistently advocated for this, welcomed the Cabinet’s decision, thanked policymakers, and expressed optimism that pending demands would also be met, reinforcing its journalist-friendly approach, Tripura Info reported.&n...
