The deceased has been identified as Ritumoni Roy, who was supposed to get married on December 5. Preparations for the ceremony were reportedly underway. According to police, Roy had attended a pre-wedding function at a friend’s residence on Sunday evening before returning to her office later that night. She is suspected to have died by suicide. Initial information suggests that Roy had been on duty on November 23 but did not return home after completing her shift. Her colleagues discovered her body the following morning. Investigators also recovered a note from the room which read: “It is for the good of everyone. Examination stress turned into shock for 35 students of the Master of Mass Communication and Journalism (MMCJ) course in Gujarat when they were handed the wrong question paper during their Semester 3 exam on Monday, November 24. The scheduled paper was for subject number 502, but students instead received the paper for subject number 503, which was meant for the following day. The error was quickly flagged by the students, prompting authorities to replace the papers with the correct ones. To compensate for the disruption, an additional 20 minutes was granted to complete the exam. According to Ahmedabad Mirror, Gujarat University registrar Piyush Patel confirmed that a show-cause notice would be issued to the paper-setter and those involved in the error. He added that the teacher responsible may be barred from future exam-related duties if found guilty. The Tripura Working Journalists Association (TWJA) has thanked the state government for revising the Tripura Journalists Pension Scheme, 2021, and the Tripura Media Representatives Accreditation Guidelines, 2020. The changes include a revised minimum age for pension access, removal of the income ceiling, and updated accreditation conditions. Journalists with 25 years of professional experience and 10 years of accreditation are now eligible for pensions even before turning 60. The government has withdrawn the previous Rs. 3 lakh annual family income cap. TWJA had consistently advocated for this, welcomed the Cabinet’s decision, thanked policymakers, and expressed optimism that pending demands would also be met, reinforcing its journalist-friendly approach, Tripura Info reported.

The incident unfolded on Sunday, November 23, during a press meet held alongside a consultative session of Puducherry and Cuddalore office bearers ahead of the 2026 Legislative Assembly election. Tensions escalated when a journalist questioned Seeman about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and the Centre’s rejection of Metro Rail project proposals for Coimbatore and Madurai. Arun and Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner J. Kumaragurubaran handed over the raincoats in the presence of senior journalists N. Ram, Director, THG Publishing Private Limited, and R. R. Gopal, Editor of Nakkeeran. A total of 500 journalists received raincoats, said Sundara Bharathi, vice-president of CPC, while speaking to Influencing. She added that this was the first such initiative carried out. The efforts of the Club were commended by the dignitaries present.
