In the early hours of Wednesday, Operation Sindoor was launched, striking nine identified terror infrastructure targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The Ministry of External Affairs clarified the operation was "focused, measured and non-escalatory", aimed only at Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen camps and avoided any civilian or military infrastructure.
