Patrick Sproule and Julian Abbott bid farewell to ABC Radio Canberra

Today, September 19, marks Julian Abbott’s final day. He announced his retirement in March and took some leave but has returned briefly to assist in the transition.
Reflecting on his career, he shared on X: "I’ve just turned 60, and I’m ready for the next chapter, which is retirement. I finish 38 days short of 33 years at the ABC. To everyone along the way in my 42 years in radio, thanks."
Patrick Sproule, ABC’s Head of Content Technology Solutions, is also taking a brief hiatus after nearly 11 years with the organization.
