By Tony Bosworth in Media News on Monday, 29th September 2025 at 6:04amWelcome to Monday and lots of coverage this morning on PM Albanese's visit to the UK, with two touchstones - meeting King Charles (and ruling out a referendum on becoming a republic) and speaking at the UK's Labour Party conference, the latter particularly earning Albo a ticking off from Opposition leader Sussan Ley that he's gallivanting around Europe on the tax payer's dollar. It is perhaps hard to justify Albo speaking at the conference, which is clearly a UK political issue, not an Australian one, unless you think he's helping fight for democracy...
To be fair that is a point made by The Australian this morning with Geoff Chambers writing the lead ('PM fights for democracy, and his mate'), the mate in question being Sir Keir Starmer, who has a thumping great majority but can't...
