NDTV has informed the stock exchanges that it has voluntarily surrendered the approval for uplinking and downlinking its proposed news and current affairs channel, NDTV Gujarati, according to a report by e4m. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) had originally granted this approval on August 17, 2023.  The company stated that the decision is part of its strategy to streamline operations and focus on key priorities. Since the channel had not yet launched, NDTV clarified that this move will not impact its financials or overall business. It described the step as a strategic shift aimed at better resource utilisation and aligning with future goals.

The Delhi High Court referred to its Intellectual Property Division (IPD), a plea filed by YouTuber Mohak Mangal seeking transfer of ANI’s copyright and trademark infringement suit from the trial court to the High Court, according to the Bar and Bench.   The matter was heard by Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani. The Court stated that the IPD bench is the proper forum for Mangal to address the issue of combining the infringement cases with the defamation lawsuit initiated by the news agency against him.   "It transpires that the matter relates to use of intellectual property of ANI. Rule 26 of IPD Rules provides that a petition seeking consolidation or transfer may be decided by a coordinate bench in the IP Division.
