SEN SA opens Mt Gambier station

The Pacific Star Network’s South Australia sports channel, 1629 SEN SA, is making a push into the state’s southeast regions with a new station, 1629 SEN Mt Gambier.
The new station will carry regular SEN SA programming, starting with Kane Cornes and Andrew Hayes’ breakfast show. Dwayne Russell is in on the afternoons with Dwayne’s World and Michaelangelo Rucci and Kym Dillon take up drive with Kymbo & the Rooch.
“SEN SA’s expansion into Mt Gambier is a brilliant opportunity for us to double down on our own commitment to South Australia and better service our regional listeners with more of the sports content that they love,” said Pacific Star Network CEO Craig Hutchison.

Britannica sues OpenAI over alleged AI content misuse

Encyclopedia Britannica and its subsidiary Merriam‑Webster have filed a lawsuit against OpenAI in Manhattan federal court, accusing the company of using their reference content without permission to train ChatGPT.
Filed on March 13, the complaint alleges that OpenAI copied nearly 100,000 Britannica articles and dictionary entries, producing “near‑verbatim” reproductions that reduce traffic to Britannica platforms and mislead users into assuming endorsement. The suit also cites trademark violations and highlights instances of inaccurate AI‑generated “hallucinations.”
An OpenAI spokesperson responded on March 16, saying its models are trained on publicly available data and grounded in fair use.

Higher global energy costs and longer shipping routes are likely to be the biggest reasons behind the projected spike in newsprint costs.
