Seminar in Imphal stresses media’s role in communal harmony and responsible journalism

A one-day seminar on “Media for Communal Harmony and Responsible Journalism” was held in Imphal on June 8, bringing together journalists, editors, and media professionals from across Manipur. The seminar was jointly organised by the Editors’ Guild Manipur and the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR).
The programme was inaugurated by Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh, who underscored the importance of ethical reporting in maintaining social harmony.
Speaking at the event, Dr Mayengbam Veto, Joint Secretary (Home), said government media advisories are intended to encourage fact-based reporting and prevent misinformation during sensitive situations.
