Prasar Bharati opens 87th e-auction for MPEG-2 slots on DD Free Dish
By Staff Writer in Media News on Monday, 05th May 2025 at 1:42pmPrasar Bharati has announced the 87th e-auction for vacant MPEG-2 slots on DD Free Dish, set for May 13, 2025. The slots will be valid from May 20, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
Private satellite channels can apply under the Phase-III policy guidelines. A participation fee of Rs 1.5 crore and a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 25,000 are required.
Applicants must submit valid permissions, genre and language classifications, content schedules, and an undertaking to maintain 75 per cent programming in the declared category. Non-operational channels must also submit intent and proposed schedules.
The process includes signing an Integrity Pact, with oversight by independent monitors appointed in consultation with the Central Vigilance Commission.
