Game Informer axed; last major gaming mag gone
By Staff Writers in Media News on Sunday, 04th August 2024 at 5:08pmUS gaming outlet, Game Informer, has been shut, with parent company and gaming retailer GameStop axing the entire brand, which included the 33-year old magazine as well as its online site and digital channels.

Game Informer was really the last major monthly magazine left standing, having published since 1991 and being part of the US gaming retailer GameStop since 2001. Friday, US-time, Kotaku broke the news of the closure and the fact that all staff were being laid off.
