Delhi HC clarifies it does not intend to act against journalist Manisha Pande

The Delhi High Court has clarified that it does not intend to take any action against journalist Manisha Pande or sabotage her career, following strong oral observations made during a hearing earlier this week, The Indian Express reported.
A Division Bench of Justices C. Hari Shankar and Om Prakash Shukla was hearing appeals filed by TV Today (India Today Group) and Newslaundry in a copyright infringement and defamation dispute on January 22. During the proceedings, the Bench objected to the use of an unparliamentary word in a programme featuring Pande and remarked that she had not followed basic standards of decency in reporting. The court had also suggested it could consider making her a party to the case, raising concerns that her career could be placed in “disarray.”
