Announcement posted by 303 Mullenlowe 28 Oct 2021
Hi there
Nice opp for the long weekend and public holiday kick off...
To mark World Teachers’ Day tomorrow, on Friday 29 October 2021, renowned Queensland artist Rachel Burke, will unveil a new art installation at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
Titled, ‘The Garden of Gratitude’ the installation is a grand scale thank you to the teachers of Queensland, and will be on display for one weekend only from Friday 29 October 2021 – Sunday 31 October 2021.
The Garden of Gratitude creation was the result of hundreds of Queenslanders taking part in a competition in which they were encouraged to contribute a message of thanks to a teacher that had made a difference or inspired them in some way.
Rachel then worked her magic to transform those messages into a beautiful visual artwork with a single-minded message at its core – Thank you for all you do teachers of Queensland!
Media opps:
Radio pre records or live from today throughout long weekend.
A bit more about the installation:

One winning school from each state region, including metropolitan Brisbane, the South East, Darling Downs & South West, North Coast, Central Queensland, North Queensland and Far North Queensland, will be announced to coincide with the art-work unveiling on World Teachers Day, October 29, 2021.
