ZARRAFFA’S BREWS UP LOCAL CONNECTION WITH CAPALABA PARK DRIVE THRU

The Capalaba Park drive thru marks the eleventh and final site set to open for 2025, as the Australian-owned and operated company rounds out the year and highlights the enduring strength of its franchise model and community-first philosophy.

Signifying a milestone for one of the brand's longstanding Franchisees, Justin Fu, who's journey with the specialty coffee retailer spans two decades.

A proud Franchisee since 2005 when Justin took the reins of the Toowong store in Brisbane's west, later expanding to Cannon Hill in 2018 when the store relocated, and now a multi-site operator with the opening of Capalaba Park drive thru.

Perfectly positioned in a prime location to service the bustling Capalaba and surrounding Redlands area, the new store will offer convenient access for commuters and locals alike, complementing the brand's ongoing investment in high-traffic and convenience sites across the region. 

For Justin, opening a second Zarraffa's store is both a professional achievement and a personal passion project. 

Franchisee Justin Fu said, "Zarraffa's was my first job after moving to Australia in 2000 while I completed my Masters degree at the University of Queensland. In 2005, I bought my first store and in the blink of an eye, 20 years have passed by."

"I've grown with this brand and always appreciated how involved everyone is, from Head Office through to each local community. Capalaba is a new suburb for me, but I am really looking forward to getting to know the locals and becoming part of their daily coffee ritual," he said.

The Capalaba Park site is a relocation from Capalaba Kiosk which closed last month and will feature the latest iteration of Zarraffa's innovative dual-lane drive thru design, delivering faster service and greater convenience during peak times.

The store will employ around 40 team members, supported by experienced staff from the Cannon Hill location, and 20 new local hires through a dedicated recruitment and training program.

As a self-confessed coffee lover whose go-to is a double ristretto almond milk latte, Justin said that consistency and customer experience remain his core focus with the new store opening.

"My background is marketing and strategy, but at the heart I am a hands-on operator. I'll be in store every day getting to meet our new loyal customers, build relationships and make sure every cup lives up to our promise," added Justin.

"This brand has always been about people, our customers, communities and our team. We want our store to be more than a coffee stop, we want it to feel like part of the neighborhood where locals and commuters keep stopping by."

At Cannon Hill, Justin and his team are known for their community engagement, donating to local childcare centres, schools and sporting groups, an initiative which will continue with Capalaba Park as they establish local community roots.

The new store will feature Zarraffa's renowned range of signature coffee blends, along with a selection of delicious food options, including the brand's new freshly baked in store range, breakfast items, and savoury snacks, crafted to complement the coffee experience.

Leading the way in retail coffee innovation, Zarraffa's continues to grow towards its goal of over 200 sites nationally ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
