SILQ wins 2025 Australian Business Award for Software Innovation

Announcement posted by SILQ 01 Dec 2025

Legal practice management software recognised for ground-breaking CDR-compliant bank feeds

In 2025, SILQ, a leading provider of legal practice management software in Australia, has been recognised as the ABA100 Winner for Software Innovation, celebrating the company's commitment to delivering secure, innovative solutions for the legal profession.

SILQ was honoured for its pioneering CDR-compliant automated bank feeds feature, launched in May 2025.

Since 2002, SILQ has been transforming how Australian Barristers and Solicitors manage their legal practices. Today, 2,500 clients rely on SILQ's cloud-based platform to increase efficiency and reduce time spent on administration.

"This award validates our unwavering commitment to putting client security first," said Steven Richardson, SILQ's Managing Director. "While it would have been easier and faster to implement screen-scraping technology like many of our competitors, we chose the more technically challenging CDR-compliant solution because it was the right thing to do for our clients."

SILQ's automated bank feeds represent a genuine innovation in legal practice management - the first and only solution in the profession to use the Consumer Data Right (CDR) framework for secure, compliant data sharing. The feature connects clients to over 150 financial institutions, providing feeds for both expenses and receipts while maintaining the highest security standards.

The timing of this innovation is particularly significant, with the Australian Government flagging intentions to ban screen scraping practices in March 2025 following concerns raised by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner about privacy and security risks.

"This award recognises not just our innovation, but our commitment to future-proofing our clients' practices," Steven continued.

SILQ's success is built on a feedback-led development environment where clients are active partners in the platform's evolution. Most new features are developed from direct client feedback, ensuring SILQ continuously evolves to directly improve daily workflows and solve real challenges faced by legal professionals. This close collaboration is supported by SILQ's Australian-based customer support team, who know each client personally and build the trusted relationships that set SILQ apart.
