Destination Wedding Directory Launches ‘Ask the Expert’ Series to Help Couples Plan Weddings Overseas

Announcement posted by Destination Wedding Directory 26 Nov 2025

New YouTube series features destination wedding experts answering couples’ biggest planning questions on locations, costs, contracts, and logistics.

MELBOURNE, Australia - November 26, 2025

Destination Wedding Directory has announced the launch of its new "Ask the Expert" video series, created to give engaged couples honest, practical answers about planning a destination wedding. Hosted on the Destination Wedding Directory YouTube and supported by Destination Wedding Directory Facebook Group of more than 100,000 couples and vendors, the series is designed to help viewers cut through confusion, avoid costly mistakes, and make confident decisions about their wedding budget, location, and logistics when planning a wedding overseas.

The first episodes feature destination wedding travel advisor Sarah Kline of Time For Travel and romance travel specialist Victoria Fricke of Vic's Vacations. Kline focuses on how working with a dedicated destination wedding travel professional can protect a couple's investment from the very beginning. She explains how an experienced advisor helps couples choose the right resort for their priorities, navigate the fine print around group contracts and room blocks, and advocate for them when policies or plans change.

Fricke, a TravelPulse 40 Under 40 honoree and established industry leader, centers her episode on how couples can maximize their destination wedding budget without compromising their vision. She walks couples through common ranges of approx. $15,000 to $45,000 AUD ($10,000-$30,000 USD) for tropical weddings, typical deposit requirements for weddings and room blocks, and how group perks can stretch a destination wedding budget further.

While the episodes so far feature US-based experts discussing pricing in USD, the budgeting frameworks, contract advice, and logistical tips and strategies can be applied universally, providing essential viewing for Australian couples planning weddings in Bali, Fiji, Thailand, or Europe.

"No two destination weddings are exactly alike," Fricke said. "My goal is to help couples understand what to put their money into, what they can let go of, and how to feel confident about their budget decisions."

Across the series, experts answer the kinds of questions couples ask every day in the Destination Wedding Directory community, including whether it is possible to host a 70-guest wedding for under $15,000 AUD, how to choose between an all-inclusive resort and a private villa, and when it makes sense to fly in trusted vendors. Each episode is designed to give brides and grooms concrete next steps they can take immediately, rather than vague inspiration.

In 2026, the platform will expand its scope to support more Australian couples—a core mission for Destination Wedding Directory, which is led by Melbourne-based couple Jo and Jon Winter.

Drawing on their own first-hand experience planning three destination wedding celebrations to include loved ones around the world, the Winters are commissioning new episodes specifically tailored to the Australian market. These will feature local experts and deep dives into logistics for top destinations like Bali, Fiji, and Thailand, helping couples move from overwhelm to a clear, realistic plan.
