One of Regional Victoria’s Most Transformative New Communities

Work is officially underway on McMahon's Place, a major new residential development set to deliver over 1,000 homes to Echuca and transform more than 100 hectares of former farmland into a thriving, masterplanned community.

Resi Ventures marked the start of civil works today with a sod-turning ceremony attended by Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh MP, Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell, the original landowners - the McMahon family, and key project partners, including local builder Northern Constructions Group.

McMahon's Place will increase Echuca's housing stock by more than 10%, significantly improving affordability and access for local families, key workers, and new residents. The project is expected to play a critical role in meeting demand for new homes.

McMahon's Place is also set to deliver a substantial boost to the regional economy. Based on national housing multipliers, the project is expected to:

  • Support nearly 5,000 jobs across construction, trades, transport and local services
  • Inject $1.6 billion in total industry output and consumption into the broader economy

Speaking at the ceremony, Resi Ventures Director and Co-Founder Khurram Saeed said the project is a testament to what's possible when development is shaped by local collaboration and a long-term vision.

"We're proud to be delivering on Barry and Kathleen McMahon's vision for this land - a place where future generations will grow, just like their family has." said Mr Saeed. "Building on this legacy, we're today announcing a $25,000 discount on land lots for locals as part of our 'Love Echuca. Live Echuca.' campaign."

He also highlighted the importance of choosing Northern Constructions Group to lead delivery of the early stages:

"We're thrilled to be partnering with Northern Constructions Group, a builder with deep roots in the region. Their local knowledge, longstanding community relationships, and track record of quality delivery make them the ideal team to help bring McMahon's Place to life."

Construction on Stages 1 and 2 is now underway, with titles expected to be delivered in late 2026, paving the way for the first residents to move in soon after.

When complete, McMahon's Place will include a mix of home sizes and types, local parks and green space, and connections to future schools, shops and services - creating a complete neighbourhood just five minutes from the Echuca town centre.
