Yahoo! 7 explains reorganisation

By Jonas Lopez in Media News on

Yahoo! 7 is set on a new reshuffle.

The network stated that its backoffice technology division will be downsized after one of the company’s two parent firms, Oath, had its own restructuring. The move was made when Oath, co-parent firm Seven West Media, and Yahoo! 7 held a strategic review. Yahoo!7 Be, 7News, Yahoo! 7 Finance, Mail and 7Sport are not affected in the changes.

“Yahoo7 will focus resources on local content creation and monetisation. Our editorial team will continue to deliver premium, unique and engaging content in the news, sport and lifestyle verticals,” said Yahoo! 7 Ed Harrison.

News of the restructure have already kept the staff on edge. As reported at Mumbrella, not all departments have been briefed on the plan. A representative, however, confirmed that chief revenue officer Paul Sigaloff stays in office.
