WIN TV prepares regional newsroom shutdown

The network announced today that lower ad revenues and digital content competition have forced management to shut down WIN’s stations for Central West, Riverina and Albury, in NSW and Wide Bay, Queensland effective 28 June 2019.
WIN Central West covers the area around Orange and WIN Riverina is focused on the Wagga Wagga region. WIN Wide Bay is responsible for Hervey Bay and Bundaberg.
Approximately 40 people are expected to be displaced by the move, but some of them will be offered reassignments to other locations.
The closure has triggered reactions from the local community and WIN TV employees alike.
