Williams lands Nine sports director job

He comes to the post after recent incumbent Tom Malone was reassigned to head the network’s radio division.
The appointment is part of Nine’s management restructure, where Williams will report to news and current affairs director Darren Wick. The rationale for this is that both sports and news reporting teams will be able to work closely on their coverage.
The move is a big step for Williams, who had previously handled Nine’s cricket and tennis coverage and produced the Footy Show, Sunday Footy Show, and Footy Classified.
