The Australian appoints Nick Ryan as new senior wine writer

Ryan, a respected wine critic known for his storytelling, expressed his honour in stepping into this influential role, continuing the legacy of the longest-running national wine column in Australia.
"I have a career as a wine writer because James Halliday, through his passion for the subject and Herculean work ethic, showed such a thing could even exist."
"I'm genuinely humbled that I'm the one tasked with building on his forty-year contribution to The Australian," he added.
