THE BRIEF: Friday's shot

By Tony Bosworth in Media News on
A man with a gun walks into the room and unloads ... his shares. Today's Australian Financial Review features a story grab on page one about Australian company DroneShield and its founder and CEO Oleg Vornik (he's the one with the rather large gun in the picture) who has unloaded all his shares in the "hot defence stock", as the AFR puts it. Along with shares offloaded by the Chairman and another director it has seen the once sizzling stock now fall by a whopping 31 per cent, writes Amelia McGuire and Jonathan Shapiro. At the time of writing, no reason has been given by Vornik for the share sell-off. DroneShield is, so it says, "the world-leader in counter drone solutions", and extensively uses AI and Machine Learning. The company would not comment on the specific reasons for the sell-off but one investor expert told the journos the likely reason is because they fear the share price is going to tumble, so want to realise their gains while they can. Clearly, one of the questi

Image source: DC, Mint, Telegraph India and Reuters; Edited by Dinesh Raj M   Delhi has dropped the hedging. The Red Fort rush-hour explosion is now officially a terror attack by “anti-national forces.” Investigators say the plot wasn’t a one-off: a doctor-led module allegedly planned multiple VBIEDs, assault-rifle follow-ups, and even eyed Ayodhya. The story that’s emerging is chilling—white coats, encrypted chats, and self-radicalisation, including a “woman mujahideen” thread—stitched across campuses, clinics, and safehouses. Hot off the Press For The Times of India, Rajshekhar Jha reported DNA confirmation that Dr Umar Un Nabi was the Red Fort bomber, with a three-car plan (i20 blown up; a red EcoSport traced; a Brezza still missing) and November 25 Ayodhya mischief allegedly on the table. TOI’s Pathikrit Chakraborty detailed Lucknow sibling doctors Shaheen Shahid and Parvez Sayeed as self-radicalised “lone wolves.” At the same time, Nikhil Sharma trac
