De Ceglie to lead West Australian Newspapers

The senior editor role was created in the wake of Brett McCarthy’s departure as The West’s editor last week after ten years’ service. The role also is part of Seven West Media’s plans to bring together all news personnel into one centre.
As such, De Ceglie is now overseeing editorial duties for not only The West Australian and its weekend and online editions, but all of WAN’s 19 regional mastheads and online portal Perthnow.com.au.
A native of Fremantle, De Ceglie earned his stripes as a cadet reporter with the Collie Mail before moving up to editing and writing jobs at the Mandurah Mail and The Sunday Times.
