Nextmedia has announced that Julian Bajkowski will take over as editor at iTnews this week, replacing Allie Coyne who departed in April. At the same time, the hunt is now on for a commercial editor to replace the outgoing Glenn Rees who will finish up on Friday, June 15.
Most recently, Bajkowski has been writing for public service specialist outlet The Mandarin, and brings with him decades of experience across the likes of The Australian Financial Review, MIS, Computerworld and Government News.
In an official statement, editorial director Steven Kiernan said he is thrilled to welcome Bajkowski to the iTnews team, and also recognised Ry Crozier for his hard work following Coyne’s departure.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to give a huge shout out to Ry Crozier for doing such an incredible job acting in the editor's role over recent weeks since the departure of iTnews veteran Allie Coyne, who joined Telstra. Ry has done a commendable job managing the team and upholding the quality that iTnews is known for,” said Kiernan.
As Glenn Rees finishes up his commercial editor role and returns to Editor Group, Kiernan is also seeking applications from individuals keen to fill that position.
“We have been growing rapidly across iTnews, CRN and our custom division, Nextcustom. We are on the lookout for great talent across the brands. If you want to join the best enterprise IT editorial team in Australia get in touch with me at email@example.com” said Kiernan.
