Reuters X account restored after suspension

Reuters' official X accounts, including @Reuters and @ReutersWorld, were restored on Sunday after being temporarily withheld in India by the social media platform. The accounts were blocked on Saturday night following what X described as a "legal demand". Reuters reported receiving an email from X stating, “At this time, we are no longer withholding access in INDIA to your account.” According to The Indian Express, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Electronics and IT clarified that “there is no requirement from the Government of India to withhold Reuters handle”, and confirmed that the Ministry was working with X to resolve the matter. In an earlier communication dated 16 May, X informed Reuters’ social media team that a request to remove content had been received, stating, “It is our policy to notify account holders if we receive a legal request from an authorized entity (such as law enforcement or a government agency) to remove content from their account.” X cite

  Winners of the 2025 South Australian Media Awards.   ABC journalist Eva Blandis has been named Best Young Journalist, Broken Hill-based Bill Ormonde Best Rural/Regional Journalist, with the ABC winning eight awards overall at the 2025 South Australian Media Awards.
